Most of us do the work given to us. Perfectionists immerse themselves inside it. It is much harder to be a perfectionist than it seems on the outside. While sometimes this habit lands them into trouble, the people around them are affected by this crazy perfectionism as well. Let’s go through the average struggles that only perfectionists face in their everyday lives.
1.) You dread - “Chalta Hai”, “Unnees-Bees (19-20)" and similar statements.
Because it is either 'Crap' or 'Perfect' for you. There is nothing in between these standards. Someone with such a casual attitude around you ends up having a tough time.
2.) In team and group projects, you always end up working more than everyone else.
Since you are almost never satisfied with the work done unless it is done properly or the way you want, you keep working and reworking on the same. It's my way or the highway, b**ch!
3.) You have this urge to organize, know everything and put everything in the desired place.
You suffer from this mini-OCD which keeps telling you to “arrange” your bookshelf, your notes and possibly everything that comes you way. Hard, isn’t it?
4.) Most of the times, it is extremely difficult to please you.
Your partners, your friends and your family go through a hard time while working with you or for you. Needless to say, it doesn’t feel nice but you just cannot help it.
5.) Files, folders, alarm clocks, markers or highlighters, calendars have helped you more than you can think of.
They are your best friends while you walk your path of perfectionism. #CannotHelpIt
6.) Your friends have been on the receiving end of your endless taunts forever now.
But again you just couldn’t help it. The inexplicable urge to correct the mistakes. Argghhhh!
7.) And when you happen to make mistakes, you just do not forget them. #NoNeverNot
You make sure you are always perfect, all the time. Even when you commit mistakes, you make sure you NEVER repeat them.
8.) No matter how much everyone hates you for being the perfectionist that you are, you love the end result of your work, ALWAYS.
The satisfaction you get after being able to finish a task with utter perfection, just the way you wanted is unexplainable. The same haters secretly love your work too. #LikeABoss
